Hey guys! I have so much to share in this post, I barely know where to start. This is mostly a Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation Review, but there’s also some dupes and announcements in there, so let’s just get into it.
Wet n Wild Now Available At Ulta + Ulta Now Ships To Canada!
Okay so first the announcements, Wet n Wild is now available at Ulta Beauty! Hallelujah! It was about time their full range became available at a major retailer and I’m glad I can now easily get my hands on their products. Btw, Ulta now ships to CANADA! 💃🏾 About damn time!
Okay now we can move on to the review:
Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation Review
This foundation promises a buildable coverage in a matte finish. It also claims to have been tested in 7 light conditions and to have flashback in none. You can read all the claims here.
In my experience this foundation blends easily. It is buildable and it has a lovely matte finish. It does leave a slightly tacky finish so you definitely want to set it with a powder. It has an odd scent to it that I can’t quite place, and frankly it is not a pleasant fragrance. Thankfully, it doesn’t linger.
I love this foundation because it is buildable to a full coverage and it completely covers my acne scars. It leaves a matte finish and it is pretty good at controlling oil.
PS: I ALWAYS pair my foundations with a mattifying primer. My absolute favourite one is the Deciem Hylamide Matte 12 Finisher.
I went into more details in the video, and you can see how it applies, but basically, this is one of my favourite drugstore foundations at the moment.
Estee Lauder Double Dupe ? – Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation Review
The Estee Lauder Double Wear has been my holygrail foundation for years, because like the name suggests, it stays in place all day. It is fantastic at controlling oil and it is just all around an amazing foundation.
I’ve always been on the lookout for a cheaper alternative to the Estee Lauder Double Wear though, so I was excited when I realised that the Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation was pretty similar to it.
There are more details about the similarities between these two foundations in the video, but here is a recap;
They are both buildable to a full coverage.
They are both long wearing.
They are both good at controlling oil.
They both have similar consistency/texture/thickness.
They do have some differences though. Most notably, the Estee Lauder Double Wear does not have an off-putting scent to it, which the Wet n Wild Photo focus Foundation does.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear has an SPF of 10 while the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation has no SPF.
The Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation was specifically created to not have flashback, and it lives up to those claims. While I personally don’t experience flashback with the Double Wear, I have seen quite a few people complain that it gives them flash back.
In conclusion, I’d say the Estee Lauder Double Wear is a little more mattifying than the Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation, but it is still an excellent affordable alternative if you’re on a budget but you want the Double Wear effect.
That’s all I can think of at the moment. Have you tried either of these foundations? Tell me what you think!
Thank you for stopping by!
