Wet n Wild recently launched some metallic liquid shadows. Because I have been LOVING the Stila Liquid Glitters, I decided to give these a try and here’s what I think.
Like the moon’s reflection on the majestic sea, these deep, multi-dimensional liquid eyeshadows are infused with intense pearl pigments that will transform any eye look. These vivid pigments dry down into a metallic matte finish to maintain your mermaid vibes all night long. Sweep, dab or blend the fluid formula directly onto the eyelids to showcase the high impact, long lasting, multi-color finish.

I got all four shades: Mysterious Nights and Aquatic Prism, Moonlight Majesty and Lara’s Necklace
Mysterious Nights is a silvery black with hints of olive on me.
Aquatic Prism is a bright blue with a black base. I see some green and purple flecks in there too.
Moonlight Majesty is a purple with a black base. I see some gold flecks in it.
Lara’s Necklace is an emerald with a black base. I see tiny flecks of gold in it.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow Review
These are glittery duochrome metallic liquid eyeshadows.
They are easy to apply, and they dry down and set in place. I had no issues blending out the edges with my Sigma E55 brush. It is a shader brush but I found it worked better than using a buffing brush. You want to work quick though, because it dries down fast. I’d do one eye at a time.
Like with other liquid shadows I’ve tried in the past, I think these are best for a cut-crease type of look where mininal blending is required because the whole blending liquid glitter + powder thing can be tricky especially for beginners. If you do opt to blend you might want to go back in with your crease/transition colours and make sure everything looks seamless.
I suggest keeping your eyes closed till the shadow dries to prevent creasing or transfer or patchiness especially if you have hooded eyes like me. That’s what I do with the Stila liquid shadows.
There was no flaking or fallout during the day. So long as I didn’t touch my eyes, it stayed put.
Immediately I saw these I thought they were going to be perfect for smokey eyes because they just have this amazing dark shift to them. They look great on their own, but they POP over a black base, and that’s how I’ve been wearing them.
I also plan to wear these as liners.
To take this off, I use my Sephora Waterproof Bi-Phase Eye Makeup Remover or my Garnier Micellar Water and it comes off in seconds.
Overall, I think these are great for the price and I would love to see more shades in the future.
