So I was stalking The Ordinary website like I do, and I saw a product named The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% 😱.

The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% Review

Here is the product information from the brand website:

Water-Free, High-Potency Antioxidant Formula

This formula combines very high concentrations of two of the most powerful and important antioxidants in skincare: Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid. Resveratrol is a natural phenol found in several plants and our pure source is 100% derived from Japanese Knotweed. Ferulic Acid is a high-potency phytochemical antioxidant found naturally in walls of plant cells.

Skincare formulations generally incorporate Resveratrol at 1% or less and Ferulic Acid at 0.5% or less. This formula contains each at 3%, an exceptionally high concentration.

Note: Water can impair the stability of any antioxidant. This formula does not contain any water, silicones, oils or alcohol.

Directions

Apply alone or after water-based serums, before oils or heavier creams. Alternatively, mix with other treatments to enhance their antioxidant capacity significantly. This product can be mixed with The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% or Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone at each application to form an outstanding antioxidant network of Vitamin C, Ferulic Acid and Resveratrol.

Ingredients

Propanediol, Resveratrol, Ferulic Acid.

Resveratrol is derived from plants. Most popularly, it is derived from the skin of red grapes, although Deciem states theirs is from Japanese Knotweed. It is a natural antioxidant that is incredibly powerful and anti-aging.

I’ve NEVER seen this ingredient in an affordable product, so I was really excited that The Ordinary has decided to launch their version of it.

Ferulic Acid is another powerful antioxidant which is found in plant cells.

Apparently it is more powerful than Vitamins C and E, and when used together, it makes Vitamins E and C more effective. Hmmm… sounds interesting.

Both ingredients are supposed to help maintain optimum collagen levels and make skin appear more youthful.

I like how this serum feels on the skin. It sinks into the skin really nicely and doesn’t feel like I have anything on.  It layers well under or over other products.

I will have more to say about it after a few months of use.

The Ordinary launched another antioxidant product which can be used in conjunction with this, and it is The Ordinary EUK 134 0.1%.

If you wanted to use both products, you could use The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% at night. You could even mix it with your favourite Vitamin C product, as it is supposed to make Vitamin C more effective.

Then in the morning you can use The Ordinary EUK 134 0.1%. You can mix this in with most products. Deciem recommends mixing it with Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA but my go-to morning moisturizer is The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin + HA or just Hyaluronic Acid on its own. So, I will either wear this alone or mix it with Alpha Arbutin and/or Hyaluronic Acid.

What do you think? Will you be buying either of these products?

Buy The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% on the brand website where it will be available for purchase soon.

  1. This is so worth a look. The Ordinary is the truth. The other day, I went barefaced to two different makeup counters and the store assistants kept asking for my skincare routine. I told myself, “Mama, I made it.”
