Review: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector- Blushed Copper (Limited Edition)

becca blushed copper

I got the Becca SSP in Blushed Copper a few weeks ago and I have been wearing it almost every day since. Here are my thoughts, swatches, and more pictures.

I didn’t even intend to purchase this, but I am so glad I did.  I initially wanted the Gerard Cosmetics highlighter in Lucy, but one day as I was reading reviews of it online, I saw someone compare it to the Becca Blushed Copper, and the person said they were dupes for each other, and  the packaging for the Blushed Copper got me. I mean the packaging is pretty, rose gold, AND limited edition. What choice did I have? 😀 It also comes with a clear plastic thingy that separates the powder from the mirror, which you can almost see in the top right corner of the cover photo.

I mean look at that! <3

According to Becca, it is a warm copper infused with rose gold tones. This is the first of its kind, and fuses together the soft shimmer of a luminizer with the subtle pigment of a blush…  This compact of multi-toned, ultra fine pigment pearls  adjust to the skin’s natural undertones for a truly unique glow.

I have to agree with that because this is a hybrid between a blush and a highlighter, I’d say it is more of a shimmery blush than a highlighter.

Here is what it looks like in natural light with no filter:

I was relieved to discover that pretty packaging aside, this product actually delivers. I was a little nervous about how scary the colour looked online, but it looks a little less scary in person, plus once it is properly blended into the skin…ooh the gorgeousness!!! Every time I wear this and I pass by a mirror – (or a car window or  reflective glass doors)- I have to tilt my head and check out my amazing glow 😀

It is so flattering on dark-skin and it gives a sheer wash of colour and a subtle glow when worn lightly. This definitely requires a very very light hand. It is very pigmented and can easily be over done so I apply this with my Real Techniques setting brush then pat it in with a damp beauty sponge. This tip makes highlighters sort of melt into your skin and look very natural and wearable.

This lasts the whole day (around 8 hours), and when it fades, it does so evenly. I’m very happy with it and I intend to buy other shimmering skin perfectors in the future.
