NYX Nude Matte Shadow Review. I was surprised when I discovered these shadows a couple of months ago. I had no idea NYX made single shadows. It turns out they make a LOT, but I only picked up shades from their Nude Matte Shadow line.
NYX Nude Matte Shadow Review + Swatches of Contort, Cougar, In The Buff, Late Night Lingerie
Contort is a deep green, In The Buff is a deep true blue, Cougar is a deep yellow and Late Night Lingerie is a purple brown.
I like these shadows. They’re $4 each which is quite reasonable. They are even cheaper if you can catch them on sale.
They have decent pigmentation, but some of the shades (the yellow one, especially) needed a base to pop as much as I wanted them to. They are blendable and apply smoothly. They’re not as buttery and pigmented as the Makeup Geek shadows but they’re good enough for the price.
I really like that there are unusual shades like blues and greens and yellows. Those are shades I’ve had a hard time finding matte versions of.
All in all, I think these are worth trying out, especially if you’re looking for unusual matte shades.
They are available from the NYX website.
