Foundation shades:

Here are my shades in some foundations, for ease of reference.

BlackUp’s Mattifying Fluid Foundation in 07 is the only foundation that matches me perfectly. With the rest I have to do some creative contouring and highlighting to get them to look as close to my skintone as possible. The Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, I wore mixed a primer which lightened it considerably.

MAC Studio Fix Compact Foundation- NW45 (too dark)

Black Up Mattifying Fluid Foundation- 07

Black Up Cream  to Powder Foundation- 08

Estee Lauder Double Wear – 6W1  Sandalwood (too cool)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light- Intensity 6

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops- N100 (to mix with a primer or a lighter foundation, not a match for my actual skintone.)

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation- New Guinea (too dark)

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra- 11 Muscade (I recently found out that the closest shade to this in their American line is 500W, but I haven’t tried it for myself yet)

Lancome Miracle Air De Teint- 11 Muscade

  1. could you do a swatch of the Black Up Mattifying fluid next to the Estee Lauder Sandalwood?
I am trying to order Black Up on line and I wear Sandalwood in Estee Lauder. I was thinking I would be a 9 or 11 in the Black Up.

    1. Thanks. I’ve kind of given up on MAC to be honest, but if I ever decide to try their foundations, I will try NW43 and see if it is a good match.

Feel free to share your thoughts and comments below! I read every single one and I try my best to reply as much as I can.
