Hey guys! I’m extra excited about this post because I have had this product on my wishlist for such a long time! In this post I will be reviewing the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray.
I first heard about this spray a few months ago when Tiffany ( TifJef09 on Youtube) raved about it. She’s one of my favourite vloggers and her recommendations are always on point, plus she’s hilarious! As if that was not enough, Kathleen Lights also raved about it in her January 2017 favourite video.
This has been on my wishlist for ages, but I held off on getting it because I know Milani has stockists in Nigeria, and that by the time I buy it for $10 and pay for it to get here, it will be so much more expensive than if I just wait and order it from a Milani distributor in Nigeria.
I have purchased a Milani product from Original Cosmetics in the past, and their prices are always very reasonable. Anyway, I got in touch with them and asked them to notify me when this spray becomes available.
And they did! So here I am with this post. There were actually kind enough to send me one to review, so here’s my review on it. Well, it’s more of a first impression because I’ve only had it for a short while but I wanted to let you guys know what I think of it so far right away because it’s currently on sale and I don’t know how long the sale will stick around for.
Milani Make It Last Setting Spray Review
Lock in your makeup and keep that just applied look all day and into the night—no touchups needed! Make It Last Setting Spray primes, corrects and sets your look for up to 16 hours without a crease or smudge in sight, and prevents fading and shine. Spray under or over makeup, or wear on its own for a beautifully matte, flawless face.
This spray sets and locks in makeup. It also reduces fading and creasing. It can be worn as a priming spray under makeup, and I love that it has multiple uses. I use it both as a priming spray under my makeup and as a setting spray. It takes away the overly powdery look and I also feel like it extends makeup wear.
My nose did get oily towards the end of the day, but I’m not holding that against the spray because my nose always gets oily towards the end of the day no matter what I do or don’t do. Apart from that the rest of my face was looking pretty great.
My absolute favourite thing about this spray is the finish it gives the skin. It gives this beautiful natural looking , soft matte finish to the skin. I really like it. I feel like it takes my several layers of makeup and sort of merges it into one natural looking un-cakey layer.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention it has a nice spritz to it. It doesn’t produce massive droplets of liquid that mess up your makeup, I’m actually happy with how fine it is. This is my first drugstore spray, but I hear a lot of people complain drugstore sprays don’t have a fine mist. The mist of the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray is perfectly alright in my opinion. I have no complaints about that.
Milani Make It Last Setting Spray vs Skindinavia Setting Spray (Oil-Control )
The Milani Make It Last gives my makeup the lovely finish I explained earlier, which makes my makeup look very natural. I don’t really get that same effect with the Skindinavia Setting Spray. It doesn’t alter the finish of my makeup one way or the other.
The Skindinavia Setting Spray makes my makeup last a little longer and keeps my T-Zone shine free for a little longer than the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray.
But if it comes down to it, I can get the same longevity from my makeup using either spray.
By using my new favourite primer which actually helps makeup adhere to my skin better, and by using loose translucent powder both under my foundation and after applying my foundation. This really helps keep oil at bay, especially in our humid Lagos weather.
So, to summarize; I prefer the finish of the Milani Make It Last spray, but Skindinavia Setting spray offers better longevity and oil-control. However, there are a few things you can do to get the Skindinavia longevity when using the Milani Make It Last spray.
Please note that there are three different setting sprays by Skindinavia. I own the oil-control version and that’s what I am talking about in this comparison.
The Milani Make It Last Setting Spray retails for $10 for 60ml of product on the Milani website.
If you’re in Nigeria, you can buy it here for N3700. It’s usually sold for N4500, but it’s currently on sale like I mentioned earlier.
Who else has used this? What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
