Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen Review, Swatches, Demo
Color correction gets precise with this full coverage concealer. This targeted color correcting pen features a precision applicator to camouflage skin tone imperfections.
Green: Cancels out redness and is created for all skin tones.
Blue: Neutralizes sallowness and is created for fair to light skin tones.
Pink: Brightens dullness and is created for light skin tones.
Yellow: Brightens dullness and is created for light-to-medium skin tones.
Apricot: Neutralizes dark circles and is created for light-to-medium skin tones.
Red: Neutralizes dark circles and is created for deep skin tones.
I got the shade Red, which is made for deep skintones, and that’s what I am reviewing in this post
PS: I love that this is a twist-up /click-up type of packaging. It gives great control of how much product you dispense. I also really like the precise sponge tip applicator. It is really soft and comfortable and pleasant to use.

Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen Review
I’m a little lighter than MAC NW45 so I consider myself to be in the medium-deep range of skintones and I was a little concerned that this red shade would be much too red for me, but it worked out fine. Still, I think the shade apricot would be a better match for my skintone, and the shade red might be best suited for deeper, darker skintones, those around NW48.
As you can see from the video, just the tiny little bit of product I applied went a very long way, so you need to be very careful and light- handed with this or you could start to look like an Oompa Loompa real quick.
Quick tip: I feel like using a brush to apply my foundation over a colour corrector moves the corrector away from the corrected areas so I prefer to use a beauty blender to apply my foundation over a color corrector.
The Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen blended out beautifully and felt very lightweight on the skin. When I applied foundation over it, the foundation did not look cakey and the corrector did not show through my foundation as has been my experience with some correctors in the past.
Throughout the rest of the day, it stayed the same as it looked right after application. I’m pointing this out because there was one time the LA Girl Orange Corrector played me. By the end of the day my foundation had faded and I was left with this ring of orange around my mouth. 😩
The Maybelline Master Camo sits much better on the skin, and blends seamlessly with foundation so even when the foundation fades, you’re not left looking crazy because the corrector sort of fades with it because they both mixed properly and became one.
There is only one thing that I’m not crazy about when it comes to this product, and that is the price. At first glance you’d probably think $10 for a color corrector is not too bad for the drugstore. But then you only get 1.5ml of product. For reference, MAC’s Peach Lustre costs $27 for 3.6ml of product. So when you do the math you’re pretty much paying MAC prices for this product.
Overall, I really like this corrector. I think it is a serious contender for best drugstore color corrector, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a colour corrector. I think the apricot shade could even be a dupe for MAC Peach Luster, because the formula reminds me of the MAC one a lot. I plan to try the apricot shade soon.
The Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen is available from the brand website. Have you tried this? What did you think?
