If you’re a beauty enthusiast, chances are you’ve heard of The Ordinary by Deciem. Deciem is more than just about The Ordinary though. They have lots of more high end brands with different product offerings. In today’s post we will focus on a few products I picked up from their Hylamide line.
Hylamide Reviews / First Impressions
Hylamide Hydra Density Mist
I got this because I ran out of my Boots Botanics Rose Water Toning Mist. Since I use a Glycolic Acid Toner at night, in the mornings I prefer to use something simple and soothing and hydrating because overdoing the whole chemical exfoliation thing can be irritating to the skin. This promises to be hydrating. I’ve literally only tried it once but I think I like it.
It is soothing, it is lightly hydrating but not greasy. It has no discernible fragrance. It doesn’t sting or burn.
Hylamide Matte 12 Finisher
I got this because Thatayla raved about it in one of her videos, and since she has oily skin and we feel the same way about most products, I decided to give it a shot.
As I write this post, I’ve had it on for a few hours and my T-Zone has stayed MATTE. Not a drop of oil in sight. Better yet, it has this really great velvety finish. My skin feels as smooth as the proverbial baby’s bum. I will definitely be doing a proper review of it complete with a video and a wear test. But so far I just love that you can wear it without makeup and not look crazy. I think this could be a fave but it is too soon to tell.
Hylamide SubQ Eyes
I have been wanting a super hydrating product for my eyes and the Hylamide SubQ Eyes promises to hydrate both at the surface and at deeper levels. This is one of two Hylamide serum products. The other is the Hylamide SubQ Antiage Advanced serum. I’m not sure I need that just yet.
A teensy bit oily but easily absorbed. Maybe oily is the wrong word but this is not a water based serum that disappears without a trace. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We will see.
Aside from The Ordinary, have you tried any other Deciem skincare ? Let me know what you think in the comments. I’m currently interested in checking out some of their other less popular brands; Inhibitif and NIOD. I’m also thinking of picking up a few more Deciem Hylamide products. They’ve got some pretty interesting products about to launch.
If you live in Nigeria you can preorder any Hylamide product here.
