Estee Edit Pore Vanishing Stick Review – [Primer]

Today I am reviewing the Estee Edit Pore Vanishing Stick. This has been on my wishlist for a while because I liked the idea of a primer stick.

I tested out a sample hence why I used a stock photo, but it was quite a generous sample. I’ve been using it for a while now and there’s still quite a bit left.

Product Claims

Which skin type is it good for?
✔ Normal
✔ Combination
✔ Dry

What it is:
An easy, glide-on stick that’s great to use alone, as a primer, or over makeup any time of day to blur the look of pores, while minimizing shine and oil.

Solutions for:
– Pores
– Oiliness
– Uneven skin tone

If you want to know more…
Banish the look of pores—instantly—with the Pore Vanishing Stick. With a single swipe, pores appear blurred, skin tone looks more even, and shine and oil are reduced. This dual-action formula has an outer core of oil-absorbing powders and an inner core with a sheer pigment that fits all skin tones. Portable and easy to apply, it can be used alone for a natural-looking, flawless finish, as a shine-busting primer under makeup, or to refresh makeup for a velvet-smooth finish.

I love that  this comes in a convenient stick packaging, and you can just swipe it on and go. On application, it instantly mattifies the areas its applied to. It doesn’t leave a cast on deep skin. It doesn’t cake up or look textured/crumbly under foundation. Makeup goes on very smoothly over it.

I’m afraid that’s where the good news ends. This does nothing for my pores. It does nothing for oil control. It does nothing for makeup longevity. During one of the test days, I applied it to one side of my face and left the other side unprimed. There was zero difference between the two sides at the end of the day. My makeup looked exactly the same on both sides.

I’m afraid this is all cute packaging and no substance. It sadly doesn’t live up to its claims of being oil controlling and pore filling. At least not on me.

Maybe someone with less obvious pores and drier skin who lives in a cooler climate might have better luck with it. Or perhaps if you just want a primer to simply act as a barrier between your makeup and your skin, you might enjoy this.

But if you’re looking for something pore-filling and oil-controlling, keep looking because this isn’t it.

  1. Boohoo!! I had really high hopes for this. Sucks that it didn’t live up to expectation. At least you saved some money trying out a sample first
