Colourpop Polish Review & Swatch on Dark Skin – One Wish, Two Wish.

Colourpop Polish Review

Hey guys! Its been a while since I did a nail post but I’m back with one today because Colourpop recently launched nail polishes! I believe there are 6 shades. Most are them are pastel shades which aren’t really my style, but there are 2 shimmer shades, and I got a shimmer shade named One Wish Two Wish. So, today’s post is a Colourpop Polish Review.

ColourPop Nail Polish Review: Product Information

(Taken from the ColourPop website.)

Our super pigmented polish has a smooth application and is 7 Free (that means no Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, DBP, TPHP, and Xylene). Did we mention it is also fast drying, long wearing and reinforces and protects your nails?

I haven’t had this on long enough to comment on wear time. I will update this post at the end of next week with my comments on its wear time. But I wanted to share swatches and my first impressions, especially because I haven’t seen many brown girl swatches of the polishes in general and this shade in particular. P.S.: Colourpop polish contains 13.3ml of product and it costs $6. For reference Essie polishes contain 13.5ml so this is pretty much the standard size.

Colourpop Polish Review: One Wish, Two Wish

One Wish Two Wish is a silver shade with tons of holographic microglitter, and it is stunning!

My favourite thing about this shade is that it is ever so slightly translucent. Worn alone, it looks great, but when worn over another solid colour it sort of picks up that shade and takes on a shift of the colour.

I can show you better than I can tell you. For these I did two coats of OWTW both on the nails with base colours and the one without

On to the application: this needs two coats because as with most polishes, the first coat is uneven. It was perfect at two coats and it didn’t bubble up when dry.

I will update this post Saturday the 12th of August 2017 to let you guys know if it chipped or wore off too fast or whatever. That will be my 8th day wearing this polish.

I paired it with my Essie Gel Couture top coat which is my favourite top coat for extending the wear of my polishes. I usually get at least one week of good wear when I pair the Essie top coat with my regular polishes so I’m expecting the same from this. Without the Essie Top coat I get chipping or really intense wear off by day 4.

Wear Time

By the end of the week I had one tiny little chip on my non-dominant had and a a rather noticeable one on my dominant hand. Both of these happened on day 7 after I’d spent quite some time cooking and cleaning that day.

Overall I’m impressed with the wear time and for next time I’ll be sure to do two layers of top coat.
This is available from the ColourPop website, but unfortunately it only ships within the US because of airmail regulations and restrictions.

Have you tried any Colourpop polish? What did you think?
