Hey guys, it’s December 16th as I write this post. I know it’s not technically the end of the year, but with 2 weeks to go, I’m pretty sure I’m not going to suddenly discover any new faves before the year runs out, so I’m ready to call it.Here are the best products I tried this year. I’ve already reviewed all these products and done videos on most of them, so I’m going to only state why I like them in this post. You can see my full review on anything by searching for it on the blog.
Fenty Beauty Foundation this is hands down my favourite foundation ever. The more I use it, the more I love it. Even after the initial hype has faded, I still really think it is an amazing foundation. It is lightweight, medium buildable coverage, and it is also really good at controlling oil. I also really like the Wet nWild PhotoFocus Foundation and the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation.
Colourpop No Filter Concealer this was a really great affordable concealer to launch this year. The formula is great, but the shade range and undertones for darker skin tones could use some work. I also love the formula of the Wet nWild PhotoFocus Concealer, but again, the shade range sucks.
Kat von D Blotting Powder this is my favourite mattifying setting powder. I love that it comes in a compact, and it leaves an absolutely gorgeous finish. I also really like the Laura Mercier Translucent Medium Deep Setting Powder and the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder is an amazing affordable power.
The NYX Epic Ink Liner was a pleasant surprise. If you’re looking for a good eyeliner or a good dupe for the Kat von D Tattoo Liner, look no farther.
The Sigma 4DHD brush is a product I’d highly recommend picking up if you’re tired of wetting beauty sponges. It has been my go-to tool for blending out my concealer since I received it. For foundation, I’ve been loving the Elf BeautifullyPrecise Airbrush Blender.
Deciem/The Ordinary Skincare – there are too many to list , but check out my top 10 here. But special shoutout to Hylamide Matte 12 Primer and The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer which are two of my favourite primers.
I also really love the DHC Silky Cottons – they are silk-wrapped, lint free cotton pads – and the Neutrogena Sunscreen SPF 45 – because it is perfect for oily skin and doesn’t leave a cast. I’ve also really been loving the ThayersWitch Hazel. I got a lot of comments in a recent skincare video asking me what I’m doing differently with my skin. The only two new things I added are witch hazel and The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane.
That’s all I have for this year’s faves, guys!
