Best of Vichy

Vichy is a French skincare brand, owned by L’Oreal. Their major thing is that they add thermal spring water from Vichy to all their products. (Apparently Vichy is a French town the brand is named after) This thermal water supposedly contains 16 minerals and nutrients  that are great for your skin.  You can read all about it on the brand website.

Today, I want to focus on my favourite products from the brand, and I will talk about them by the lines I have tried so far. Vichy offers several different lines that target specific concerns.

The Vichy Aqualia line

This line focuses on hydration

Vichy believes that moisture is lost from the skin in an uneven manner, so they came up with the concept of dynamic hydration, which is what the Aqualia line is all about. Products from this line are supposed to hydrate your skin in the most beneficial way possible. I don’t want to bore you with all the science, so let me talk about my experience.

I find that this line offers great, long lasting hydration without feeling greasy. As someone with oily skin, I used to struggle with finding moisturizers that would hydrate my skin without making me more oily. The search ended when I found the Aqualia Thermal Serum. I also really love the Aqualia Eye Balm. It’s an excellent eye cream.

The Vichy Normaderm line

The Normaderm line is targeted at acne/blemish prone skin, and it is made with ingredients to treat or prevent acne.

I love the gel cleanser and toner from this line. They’re absolutely great and I highly recommend them. I also really like the Night Detox. It makes a good night cream for oily skin. It feels rich but not greasy.

The Vichy ProEVEN line

The ProEVEN line focuses on uneven skintone. These products are made to help even out hyper pigmentation, acne scars, and just generally improve skin tone.

The Pro Even Brightening Cleanser from this line is my favourite cleanser of all time and the Pro Even Overnight Concentrate is such a great treatment. It makes the skin look so refreshed and radiant the morning after it is used.

The Vichy Ideal Soleil line

This line caters to sun protection.  They make one of my favourite sun creams. The Ideal Soleil Face and Body SPF 45 doesn’t leave me greasy or leave a grey cast on my deep skin.

Vichy Mineral Masks

Vichy recently launched three mineral masks.  You can read all about it here. My favourites are the Pore Purifying Clay Mask and the Double Glow Peel Mask .

I love this brand and I’m not sure why they haven’t become much more popular, because they have such awesome products at reasonable prices. Vichy is now at Ulta, and also available in Canada at Shopper’s Drugmart and the Vichy Canadian website.

I hope now that they’re in the USA and Canada, more people will get to try and love Vichy products like I do.

Have you tried anything from this brand? What are your thoughts?

  1. You really love this brand oh! Lol, I have never tried anything. I actually heard about them through your blog. I’m so hesitant to try products these days because this acne and sensitive skin is no joke. Love this post through! I might consider trying it
