Hey guys, I know the struggle to find decent swatches on dark skin is real so I usually do a bunch of swatches on my Instagram and on individual reviews, but I thought it would be useful to sort of collect all the swatches in one place.
In this post I will be swatching foundations, concealers and powders.
In another post I will be swatching eyeshadows, in yet another post, I will be swatching lipsticks, and so on and so forth.
If there’s anything you’d like to see swatched, let me know in the comments and I will try my best.
If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, click here.
I will be adding to this post whenever I get a new foundation/concealer, so feel free to bookmark it and keep checking back.
Also type in and enter ” swatches ” in the blog’s search bar and all posts with swatches should pop up!
First up, I have swatches of my current fave foundations. See all my foundation reviews here.
I've wanted to try the @maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation for a while now but I wanted the UK packaging, because it's less messy. I finally got some darker shades in the UK packaging and I've been testing it out. A proper review is coming sometime this week but for now here are some swatches. (Swipe for more) Top to bottom: ●Estee Lauder Double Wear Sandalwood ●Maybelline Shine-Free Stick Foundation 355 Coconut ●Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation (UK version) in the shades 350 Caramel, 352 Truffle and 355 Pecan respectively. ( I added Estee Lauder Double Wear Sandalwood and the Maybelline Shine Free Stick Foundation in Coconut as reference because I'm not sure these are the same shades as the US version) Everything swatched here is a little too dark for me aside from Caramel. Swipe through to see the swatches in different lighting. Want more foundation swatches? Check #bfbfoundationswatches
Review, Demo, Wear Test and Swatches of The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation are now live on the blog. Link in my bio. Here's what some of the darker shades look like next to some complexion products in my collection. As promised, here are swatches of some popular "banana" powders. Top: Kat von D Golden Brightening Powder. $25 for 8.1g Middle: Beauty Bakerie Yellow Flour (back in stock soon) $24 for 21g Bottom: Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder. $20 for 20g Even though there are variations in colour, all three look just about the same when worn on the face. They're very heavily swatched in this photo. FAQ: "Does the Beauty Bakerie Yellow Flour and the Kat von D Golden Powder cause flashback? " Answer: "No, I haven't experienced flash back with either of them but I rarely bake with banana powders, and when I do, I always make sure to sweep away the bake with a skintoned translucent powder. This prevents the baked area from looking unnaturally bright." Want more info? I have reviewed all three on the blog. Link is in my bio. (You can just search for the product names on the blog) #cocoaswatches #mmwoc
I have a couple more powders, foundations and concealers arriving soon and when they do, I will swatch them here.
In the meantime, you can see all my concealer reviews here.
And you can see all my powder reviews here.
What swatches would you like to see next? Eyeshadows? Lipsticks? Blushes and Highlighters? Let me know in the comments.
